FRIDAY 15 MAY                                  Hillarys V Mullaloo Beach Primary

The Whitfords District Carnival got off to a sunny start last Friday with Hillarian victories dominating the competition. Mr Geddes’ footy boys played like Geelong and St Kilda as they thrashed Mullaloo Beach 40 to 0. Mr Coufos’ sofcrosse team also took winning points on away soil. Fiona Grove had to choose two teams from masses of interested netballers and her A team won 23 to 6. Her B team finished with a draw. Congratulations to Marco and Matthew P for their superb efforts. Mr Fairley’s soccer lads played with the spirit of Celtic and Nottingham Forest, but ended up with a 6-4 loss.

FRIDAY 29 MAY                                  Hillarys V Springfield Primary

On Friday, Springfield arrived at Hillarys Primary for a sunny afternoon of competition. Our soccer boys dominated the visitors, winning 8-1 at Hillarys Park. It was very hard to pick man of the match as all students played strongly as individuals and a team. Sof/crosse was a close competition, but Springfield took the honours with a 3-2 result. Monique and Les were voted best on ground. Netball was an even competition as our Netball B team just beat our opposition 12-11 and Netball A lost 6-9. Mawson Park was the venue for a close footy match with Springfield eventually taking the honours by 5 points. The most obvious thing about all competitions was fair play between Hillarys and Springfield.

little action between posts. The footy boys beat Mullaloo Heights 72-26. Thanks to our official

On a cold afternoon Hillarians travelled to South Padbury. It was obvious why they are leading the

competition. They proved to be tough opposition, but Hillarys played extremely well. Our footy

team lost 49-86 and Sofcrosse won 2-0. Netball A won 16-12 and Netball B won 16-8. Gemma,

Karla and Madison played outstanding games. The soccer boys played a close match, drawing 1-

FRIDAY 19 JUNE                                            Hillarys V Padbury Primary

Wild weather hit Friday’s competition, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of our Hillarians. Our soccer

boys dominated Padbury on a windy Hillarys Park pitch. The lads won 7-0. Jacob had a very good

match and Simon received Man of the Match for his superb performance, sportsmanship and

teamwork. Our Sofcrosse team had extra training during the week and it payed off with a 13-1 win. Our

netballers were also victorious. Netball A won 23-6 and Netball B won 15-5. Padbury did not field a

footy team so the match at Mawson Park was cancelled.

FRIDAY 26 JUNE                                            Hillarys V Bambara Primary

On the last day of the winter carnival, Hillarians won all games at Bambara. The footy boys won by 38

points at Forrest Park. Netball A won 20-8 and Netball B won 17-5. Thanks to Mrs Grove and Miss

Nettleton for coaching the netballers throughout term 2. Sofcrosse was not played as Bambara do not

have a team, but our team enjoyed a fantastic Sofcrosse Coaching Clinic at Hillarys Park instead.

Hillarys soccer team, ‘The Reds’, took a while to settle into their rhythm at Forrest Park, but when they

did they took control of the match. A fine hat-trick by Elliot was embellished by superb performances

from Sam, Aleksandar and Darren. “The Reds” eventually won 7-1, finishing of a successful season.

Thanks to our captain and assistant coach, Connor, for his hard work throughout the term.
